Escape to Dayton party fundraiser March 3 

For cabin fever sufferers or those ready to unwind after a hard week of work, Clear Channel and the Dayton Area Chapter of the American Red Cross invite you to Escape to Dayton: A Gem of a City – THE premier party in the Miami Valley.

This annual Red Cross fundraiser will be held on Friday, March 3, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the Kettering Tower Lobby. A silent auction will be held throughout the evening with unique items up for bids. The grand prize is a $1,000 travel certificate courtesy of AAA Travel.

Party goers will partake of food catered by Chantille’s, drinks and live music by Velvet Crush. Honorary Chairs are Dan Edwards and Randi Rico from WDTN-TV.

All proceeds from the Escape to Dayton Party will benefit the Dayton Area Chapter’s disaster preparedness and response programs in Montgomery, Greene and Preble counties. 

Tickets are $30 in advance ($35 at the door).  Table sponsorships are also available for $450.  For more information, call 937-222-0124, ext. 103.

The Big Read at Wright Library

Wright Library is joining The Big Read, sponsored by Dayton-area libraries, bookstores, and the Dayton Daily News. Book discussions and other events will be held all over the Miami Valley to talk about To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Wright Library will host the following events:

"Brown Bag" Book Discussion in the Library Meeting Room.

Youth Volleyball

Learn the Basics of volleyball with instructors Kelly Neff & Julie Thompson.
This sport is open to boys and girls grades 4th - 6th. All participants report to the OHS East Gym on Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at 6:00 P.M. Space is limited so register early!

Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays Dates: March 1 – March 24

Adult Open Gym

Open Gym is held Tuesday nights to area men and women interested in a game or two of pick-up basketball. There is no residency requirement; however proof of residency is required.

The OCC will be hosting a Blood Drive on Saturday, March 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the
