‘…A Dream Come True’

The Oakwood High School Marching Band made their first (ever!) appearance leading the “Share a Dream Come True” parade down Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom on Thursday, Feb. 23. Marching in the parade was the highlight of a six-day trip to Orlando - the band’s first performance trip in at least two decades. In addition to the parade, the band toured the Disney parks and spent an afternoon at Cocoa Beach. The students and Band Director Ron Nelson also participated in a three hour performance workshop which included sight-reading of various Disney tunes and the recording of two arrangements from the Disney movie, Tarzan. The OHS Band wishes to thank the Oakwood community for their generous support of the annual Fruit Sale and fall concession stands which made this dream trip a reality.
