'Runnymeade' - The Talbott Home

There’s more ‘progress’ to report on last Saturday’s ‘Progressive Dinner’ at Dayton Country Club.  Carol Harrah, Asst. Mgr., supplied a list of thirty seven ‘progressive’ couples.  And it’s a list of attractive, young, Oakwood/Kettering-ites.

Mary Ferneding said she and husband Dan hadda great time.  ‘Did you freeze outdoors…it was cold that night?”  “No, when you saw us all load-up in the thirty eight golf carts we headed down the golf course to the ‘barn’ where we had dinner.”  “You mean the old stables…King Tullis’ old riding school?  No, I guess you’re too young to remember that…King quit soon after WWII…”

Sally & John Appelby, Susanne &  Tim Brabender, Lisa & Hilton Garner, Stephanie & Sean Geehan…Kim & Steve Gilbert, Jennie & Brad Gingrich and Kerry & Arthur Harian were in the ‘barn bunch.’

Keep reading…you’re sure to find your own name.  Four Hemmelgarns – Christine & Brian, Terri & Ken, Julie & Larry Johnson, Terri & Chris Jones, Carol & George Kuntz, Kathy & Jeff Lutz, Marissa & Michael Maroni, Amy & Bill Martin and Stephanie & Kevin Maxwell, Vail Miller, Janice & Tim McQuillan, Katherine & Chris Morris, Maureen & Ron Moser, and Barbara & Don Muckerheide.  Have you found your name yet?

Seth & Debby MacDonald  “…hadda ball!  “Everyone did!,” enthused Seth.  “As you know we had cocktails in the ‘Mixed Grill’ of the Clubhouse and then headed for the second tee – which has the best view of the clubhouse and the course…and we parked and headed for the ‘Equipment Shed’.  “You mean the old riding stable of King’s,” Seth was corrected.  “You know, ninety eight percent of the seventy people in the party had never heard of the stables – much less been inside.  Everyone was awestruck.  Equipment had been moved around, tables set up, and an area cleared for the combo and dancing.  It was fabulous!  The stables has a classic, handsome       interior…”

Brenda & Michael Neroni, Susan & Peter Newman, Cheri & Rick Ohmer, Ellen & JD Otto, Joanna & Doug Penry, Tracy & Chris Pohl,  Kimberly & Keith Powell.  “It was a fabulous turnout for a first-time event for members only,” continued Seth MacDonald.  “So many of the attendees suggested other events for this venue.”
Suzanne & Todd Rogers, Maria & Vincent Russell, Angela & Dennis Schimpf, Lori & Bryan Sowder, John & Regina Stephens, and Susan & Park Studebaker completes the list of thirty six couples.  “We headed back to the Mixed Grill for dessert where every one continued their ‘rave’ about whatta great evening…” ended Seth.

Sonnie & Bill Kasch and Patty & John MacDonald had a big, gala ‘farewell’ party for Mary Jones.  Hilton Head’s gain is certainly Dayton’s loss.

Friends of Jim Lynn and the late Barbara Lynn are mourning  with Jim for the loss of his daughter Nancy Lynn.  Nancy was an internationally famous aerobatic pilot who died in a crash at an airshow in Virginia last week. Nancy and her son, who’s eighteen, were a team who worked shows together -  with Peter doing the ‘commentary’ when his Mother performed.  Nancy and Peter made their home in Annapolis, Maryland.
