Italian Renaissance on Schenck Avenue

Well reasoned and timely

Theodore Reinhart’s article in last weeks Oakwood Register was well researched, well reasoned and timely. His placement of  today’s war in historical context is a refreshing change from the headlines and sound bites that dominate today’s media. He is able to describe in a decidedly non-partisan manner why difficult choices need to be made despite being unpopular. America’s freedoms and liberties are not guaranteed. We all need to wake up from the slumber that two generations of relative peace have given us.  I encourage Theodore’s letter to be discussed by all of our high school students. If we are to continue to live in the greatest country ever, the lessons history have taught us regarding appeasement in the face of threats brought on by madmen and dictators can not be understated.  As Theodore points out, In WW II the cost of our delayed response was huge when our enemies had “only” conventional weapons. We may not have that luxury once America’s enemies go nuclear.
