The Hollinger Tennis Club will host the first annual Virginia Hollinger Memorial Women’s Open tournament on June 7-10, 2007. The Club was established in 1947 to honor Virginia Hollinger, who was Dayton’s first national tennis champion. Finals for this USTA-sanctioned singles tournament will be on Sunday, June 10, at 1 pm and the public is welcome to come out to watch the matches at 201 Shafor Blvd. in Oakwood.

The 2007 City of Oakwood “Youth Talent Show Contest” incorporation with MVRAC “Miami Valley Recreation Activities Council” will be held Friday, June 8, 2007, 6 P.M. at the Oakwood Community Center. All participants must be registered by Sunday, June 3, 5 PM.
Tennis Lessons at Shafor Courts taught by the excellent staff of the Kettering Tennis Center & Quail Run. The pro staff of KTC/Quail Run is known for consistently producing some of the areas finest champions, while teaching hundreds of youth and adults the joy of developing a lifelong sport. Adults lessons begin May 30th, and youth lesson begin June 18th.
