The Dayton Heat 10U baseball team won the “Future Elks Baseball Club Memorial Weekend Tournament” played at Yankee Park in Centerville. The Heat is also currently tied for first in the 10U Division of the Midwest Ohio Baseball League. The team went undefeated for the weekend. The wins included a 17-10 win vs. the Warrior Baseball Club on Friday night. Then, a 23-4 win on Saturday vs. the Washington Hound Dogs. The semifinal game was an unbelievable slug fest vs. their rival, the South Dayton Sting. In this game, the Heat was down 15-7 coming into the bottom of the sixth inning. They needed 8 to tie and 9 to win. They were able to deliver 10 runs taking the game 17-15 with a bases loaded walk off triple by Troy Black. This was an unbelievable team win for the Heat. They showed a lot of heart and determination and they never gave up! They went on to win the championship game played on Monday vs. the Centerville Sluggers 9-7. Well done by the Heat.
