The commencement DVD’s are in the high school office. Feel free to stop by to pick up your copy. The 2006-2007 yearbooks will be here in late September or early October.
Oakwood Jr. High School will start on Wednesday, Aug. 22. The seventh grade orientation will be Monday, Aug. 20 at 9 a.m. in the East Gym and will last until 12 p.m.
There is an orientation for eighth graders new to Oakwood on Monday, Aug. 20, 2007 at 1 p.m. in the Jr. High Office.
An orientation program for all members of the Class of 2011 and new students to Oakwood High School is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 17, at 9 a.m. in the auditorium.
Parents are welcome to attend. During this orientation, new high school students will meet upper class student leaders, guidance counselors and school administra tors. They will also receive their class schedules. Policies and procedures will be discussed and common questions addressed. The program will last about one hour.
Oakwood High School newspaper students will once again be selling beautiful mums from Stockslagers Nursery now through Aug. 31. Order 8” pots for $6 or 14” pots for $15. Mums come in yellow, red, bronze, orange, pink and white to complement any house and bring fall color to any landscape. Students will deliver the flowers beginning Sept. 11.

The sale helps raise money for journalism students to attend the national high school journalism convention. This year’s convention takes place in Philadelphia, Nov. 8-11. The website is www.jea.org
Students hear key-note addresses by nationally-known journalists, attend two days of hour-long seminars on all aspects of journalism, including both print and broadcast, enter contests, and meet students from all over the country and abroad.
Last year, over 5000 students attended the convention in Nashville, TN.
Subscriptions to the Dome cost $15 a year for six, 24-page issues.

Natalie and Dave Dennis
David Dennis, son of Oakwood residents James and Linda Dennis and an OHS 1996 graduate, has recently been accepted to the prestigious full-time MBA program at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.
During his enrollment, David will focus his studies in Wharton’s Health Care Management concentration, known for its strength of academic and professional partnerships in all facets of the healthcare industry.
He chose Wharton after also having been accepted for admission to theTuck School at Dartmouth University, the Kellogg School at Northwestern University, and the
Columbia University School of Business.
Since 2001, David has been an employee of Johnson & Johnson’s Ethicon Endo Surgery division in Cincinnati. During this time, he served as a technology consultant for J & J’s global surgical device organization, including assignments in the United States, Switzerland, and France.
David and his wife Natalie are both graduates of the University of Cincinnati, College of Engineering and School of Pharmacy. They are currently relocated in Philadelphia, PA.
