The Oakwood golf team won the league championship tournament Thursday at Beechwood Golf Course in Arcanum with a team score of 312 putting the exclamation mark on this year’s league play. Sophomore Ronnie Stump carded a 75 and tied for medalist honors. The team earned Oakwood High School its twenty ninth SWBL title.

The team then made their way through regular season 9 hole matches in the Buckeye division, posting a 6-0 record and recording an average nine hole team score of 149.

Earlier in the season, the Jacks made a strong showing at their first appearance in the Worthington-Kilbourne W3 Tournament held at Royal American Links in Columbus. The team scored a 313, which placed seventh in a field of twenty-three Division I teams in the Columbus area. Senior Peter Martin led the team with a 76.

In other nine hole events The Jacks took on the Alter Knights on the back nine of Dayton CC scoring 35’s by seniors Ty Kern and Kevin Hanes and sophomore Patrick Meeks. Adam Brush carded a 38, and the team posted their season low nine hole total of 143.
