Scarecrow Row...Wow!

Photos by Leon Chuck

The Fifth Annual Scarecrow Contest builders went all out this year with 34 entries. Lined up all along Shafor Boulevard, the various scarecrow-themed scenes will be on display until the end of October. First place went to “On the Spot Reporter” by Maggie and Garrett Spikes and Emory Quinn. Second  place was called “Recycrowbles” by Cub Scout Pack 101, Marjorie Harrell, Den Mother. Third place was titled “Beach Orchard” by the residents of the 400-block of  East Peach Orchard. Judges for the contest were Major Judy Cook, Dick Robinson and Tom Griffith.

It’s Your Turn to Vote!

2007 Scarecrow Row – People’s Choice Award

Oakwood’s Scarecrow Row was bigger and better than ever this year. The prizes have been awarded – and you’ll be able to enjoy these creations for the rest of the month.

Now we’d like to know what you, the residents of Oakwood, think! Which one is your favorite?

Just use the ballot below to let us know!
Or email us at:

oakwoodregister@hotmail.com

Please include the site number and official name of the entry (both posted at the scarecrow location) – or just include the street intersection and a brief description of the entry (we’ll figure it out).

Votes will be accepted until noon on Friday, Oct. 28, and the winners will be announced in the Halloween edition of our paper on Tuesday, Oct. 30. Thanks for voting!
