Oakwood High School will hold a community pep rally this Thursday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. in the stadium (weather permitting). Fall teams that are still in action will be recognized. A bonfire will follow on the softball diamond. Go Jacks!
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 33 W. Dixon Ave., Oakwood, has a wonderful Fall Sale planned, and the entire community is invited to take part!
St. Paul’s Fall Sale will take place Friday, Oct. 26, from 6-8 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This promises to be our largest sale ever, including items from three estates! All sale proceeds benefit community outreach projects.
The community is invited to donate their gently used furniture, household items, clothing, toys, and books to be sold. Please be sure that all items are clean and in good working condition. Donations will be accepted Sunday, Oct. 21, through Thursday, Oct. 25.
On Friday, Oct. 19, Wright Memorial Public Library launched its updated website. The new website has the same address, www.WrightLibrary.org, but has an updated format and content.
Patrons visiting the website find it more like a visit to the library. The new website makes it easier to find the things a patron would want to do in the library - check the catalog, request a book, ask a research question, view a calendar of events, or subscribe to a library newsletter.
Anyone with questions about the website can contact Wright Library at 294-7171.
Do you like carving Jack-O-Lanterns? Want to learn to make a great Jack-O-Lantern? Join us Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Oakwood Community Center and learn how to carve, or decorate a pumpkin. This program is for the whole family; please join us for some spooky fun. Call the Oakwood Community Center at 298-0775 for more information.
