Friday night, the Oakwood Jills started the tournament by soundly defeating Springfield North 41-35. The scoring was led by Cathryn Hardy (20) and Brittany Moore (9). Oakwood led 22-17 at the half. On Saturday night in the Oakwood Tournament Final, Oakwood lost to Stebbins 33-38. The half time score was 9-20 Stebbins. Oakwood’s second half surge was not enough to overcome the first half deficit. Scoring was led by Brittany Moore (16), followed by Cathryn Hardy (13).

At the Southwest Ohio Field Hockey Coaches Association awards banquet, six OHS athletes received recognition for their participation this past year.
Senior Sarah Maher and junior Laura German were named to the First Team, freshman Ali Taylor and junior Lauren Sobel were named to the Second Team and receiving Honorable Mention was junior Caroline Hartel and junior Meredith Irvin.
Being named to the All State team was senior midfielder Sarah Maher.
There are a limited number of seats available for the boys basketball home game against Bellbrook on Nov. 30. General admission adult/student tickets are available for $5 in the Oakwood Athletic Office from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. beginning Monday, Nov. 26.
Adult passes, “Fan”tastic Family Discount passes, and reserved seats will be honored. Student athletic passes and Southwestern Buckeye League Passes will not be honored.
The Oakwood Boys Basketball team will also play Bishop Fenwick on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 1:30 p.m. at the Trent Arena at Fairmont High School. Presale student tickets are $3 and presale adult tickets are $6 and will be on sale in the Oakwood High School Athletic Office, Nov. 26 through Nov. 30 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. All tickets at the door are $10.
Do you love water? Are you interested in rowing? The Dayton Boat Club begins pre-season conditioning at the end of November for those new to the sport.
