The Painted Lady of St. Anne's Hill

‘Pack the Pit’ for wrestling Dec. 4

Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. is the Oakwood wrestling “Pack the Pit” night. Please come join the band and cheer on the junior high and varsity wrestlers in the season’s opening match against Covington.

The varsity includes returning lettermen D.J. Jacobs, John Harman, Josh Hootman, Paul Hochwalt, Brandon Bustillo, Chris Klingensmith, Matt Suits and Jake Horlacher. Oakwood moves up to a very challenging Division II this year.

The junior high and senior high both begin wrestling at 6 p.m.

Wrestling welcomes new coaches

Oakwood schools would like to welcome several new coaches to our wrestling program. Returning as head coach is Gary Kesler. Paul Seim returns as assistant varsity coach. Paul is an Oakwood graduate, state placer and wrestler at Clemson University. Volunteer assistant coach Jim Burns is another state placer and was a member of four of the five top state teams.

The junior high will be coached by Terry Wright who wrestled for Miami University and has coached Carlisle High School. Thomas Gossard joins him as assistant.

Thomas wrestled for Dayton Christian and currently attends the University of Dayton.
Oakwood moves up to a very tough Division II this season and will be facing some of the best teams in the state!

There are only three home meets this year. We can use your support!
